Should I test my 3 year old son for autism?
I looked up the milestones, and he hit all of them except sentences. I get so worried because i c other kids talking their heads off. My lil boy says maybe a 3-4 word "caveman" sentance. For examples, "mommy go night night," Daddy get up," go Nana's house." He does play with cars, trucks, dinosaurs and things like that. So i know he's fine in that dept. But his laguage develpoment bothers me. He is turning 3 on the 14th of this month, so maybe he's just a late bloomer. He crawled at 9 months, walked/ran at 13 months, loves to play with other children but occasionally gets shy, and the only thing that i notice that is a little different is that he likes to play with his feet when he's happy...then again maybe he just likes feet. lol. The only real thing that worries me is speech, he can sing any yo gabba gabba song, say names of all the characters in his fav shows and movies, all of our relatives names plus their animals. Am i just an over worried mom??
My oldest is autistic, at 3 he could not even say 2 words sentences, and could not communicate needs or thoughts at all. He sounds fine to me. Just keep encouraging language, it will come naturally.
